Of course there are a bunch of really great guitarists that have come and gone throughout all of music history, and in terms of rock and roll there really are so many awesome guitarists that we could put on our list of best guitarists of all time. It is definitely a really hard list to get on which is why we are trying to include as many people as we can because we don’t want to just pick the people that we like, but that is more than likely going to be what happens throughout the last two installments of this list of blogs and articles. Now I think it is important for us to first just talk about how important this type of information is to us and that we definitely are super grateful for you to come here and talk to us and learn about who we think is the best guitarists of all time, and having said that we are very grateful for you being our reader let’s continue our conversation of the best guitarists of all time by talking about Jerry Garcia.

Jerry Garcia is one of those musical wizards who is just obviously one of the best guitarists of all time and through his time with his band the Grateful Dead he was able to solidify himself as a rock and roll legend of epic proportions and I think it is pretty safe to say that Jerry Garcia had many more fans than any other of the guitarists on this list and that just goes to show how popular the Grateful Dead was and still is although they are now using John Mayer as the lead guitarist which is cool but it has nothing on what Jerry Garcia was capable of, just listen to quite cool fan. When you think of the way in which Jerry Garcia played the guitar you have to consider the facts that he came from a bluegrass background with definitely gave him a bunch of dexterity and the ability to play the guitar really quickly, and then when he switched up to an electric guitar it was clear that he was just able to make it seem super easy, but what is so cool about Jerry Garcia is that he had the ability to play for a long amount of time and just solo for so long during a show that he would seriously sweep your mind away especially if you were tripping on LSD like a lot of the Dead Heads and then all of a sudden you were in Jerry Garcia’s imagination and you literally would lose the concepts of your surroundings, and I think that this is definitely something that a lot of people don’t really get to experience as much today because Jerry isn’t alive anymore, but of course he was always Grateful Dead to begin with. I think that when it comes to the his abilities and his talents he was much more than just a fantastic guitarist and he was also able to have a really unique and wonderful singing voice and he was also able to write legendary songs that everyone knows the words to even today. The thing is that he became a living legend and was definitely the type of person who everyone loved and worshipped because he was so good at guitar, and so is was a no brainer to include Jerry Garcia as one of the best guitarists of all time.

David Gilmour

So here we are still writing articles and blogs about the best guitarists of all time and I know that this is definitely the type of topic that a lot of people get really passionate and opinionated about, and we understand that all of these selections on our list are pretty much subjective but we have tried really hard to be as objective as possible. With that being said we are going to continue to talk about some of the best who have ever played in a band and predominately played the lead guitar in those bands, and I know that we are talking about some of the best musicians in the history of human kind as well. I guess there is just something about the guitar that makes it one of the best instruments ever created, and of course since the creation of the electric guitar we have seen so many incredible guitarists come onto the scene and become really famous, and so we are going to be narrowing down our list of best guitarists of all time by going through all of the guitarists who are already super famous and are already considered to be some of the best but we are here to confirm the very best guitarists of all time right here on this blog, and we are going to continue our conversation by going on next to David Gilmour.

If it were up to just me I would probably say that David Gilmour is the very best guitarist of all time, and I just think that everything that he did throughout his career is a testament to that, but of course we are not here to talk about who is the best of the best but to just rationally talk about some of the very best guitarists of all time. Gilmour is the lead guitarist in the legendary rock band Pink Floyd and I think everyone who knows this band understands just how David Gilmour was able to make the guitar sound so out there and strange at times and then be able to make it sound so wonderful and magical on the other hand.

This is just part of the mystique of the Pink Floyd band and of course David Gilmour went on to do a lot more than just play with Pink Floyd, and his sound of guitar is so recognizable because it is just so clean and absolutely magnetic sounding. Gilmour’s sound is something that is really got a lot of flow to it but of course it is full of really loud chords along with great picking that just makes him seem like a god or something. It really sounds like you are hearing some sort of super natural instrument or music when you hear David Gilmour play the guitar and it kind of seems like he is an alien because he is so good, and what is so crazy is that David Gilmour is one of the best guitarists of all time and he is still touring around the country and the world still today, which is amazing because he is around 70 years old. Of course he is still really talented and can play just as well as he used to be able to and he also has a great voice still like he always did. The truth is that Pink Floyd at first didn’t have Gilmour but then brought him in after the death of Sid Barrett and that is exactly how he got into the band and of course he was already well known at the time, but he definitely is the guy who took Pink Floyd to the next level and made them one of the greatest bands of all time.

Keith Richards

When it comes to talking about the best guitarists of all time we definitely have a ton of super talented people to choose from and I know that it is generally super hard for everyone to really consider the facts that we should be doing things like typing out as fast as we can who is the very best, and the thing is that is exactly what we are doing throughout all of these articles and blogs. We are strictly here on this website to talk about the best guitarists of all time and that means that we have created a very comprehensive list of the best guitarists of all time and we plan on talking about as many as possible so let’s keep going on with our list of the best guitarists of all time by talking more about the lead guitarist of the Rolling Stones band, Keith Richards.

Now a lot of people think about Keith Richards as just the guy that plays guitar behind Mick Jagger, and maybe it is true that Jagger is the headliner when it comes to the Rolling Stones but of course Keith Richards is the heart and soul of the Rolling Stones, and what is so crazy is that he is definitely one of the best guitarists of all time and he is still touring around the world today with the same guys that he was playing with over 60 years ago. These guys are seriously crazy but I love seeing bands stick around and it really just seems right that the Rolling Stones have stayed healthy over the years and not faded out because of course then they wouldn’t be true to who they are as the Rolling Stones, but that is just so epic of them to be still playing together at their age and is partly why Keith Richards is considered to be one of the best guitarists of all time, and that is because he has lasted a lot longer than all the rest of this list, except for maybe a few people.

The next best guitarists of all time that we are going to be talking about is a guy who just recently passed away by the name of B.B. King, and I know that for the most part we have been talking about rock and roll guitarists but even though King was a blues guitarist it is safe to say that his blues guitar was some of the best the instrument has ever been graced to be heard, and that just shows how epic of a person B.B. King was, and with name like that and of course the really successful career that he had, there is no doubt about it that B.B. King would make our list of best guitarists of all time. There’s just something about B.B. King and his songs that were so soulful and just full of life while still making you feel like you weren’t quite there in terms of the feelings because it really was so full of emotion. That is kind of what the blues is all about, in that playing with emotion is strengthened, but of course we are still here today talking about a blues guitarist and he definitely was the best guitarist to ever play the blues and that gives him legendary status to say the very least.

Eric Clapton

So all of these articles and this entire list of blogs is all about the best guitarists of all time, and that means as you are probably already pretty sure about, that we are going to be talking about some really epic people throughout each and every one of these articles. I want to make this article and this entire list of blogs a little bit more collaborative in that we will try to include as many of the best guitarists of all time in all of these articles so we aren’t leaving anyone out because I know just how much people who love music and especially rock and roll get defensive about which guitarists are the best guitarists of all time. I just want to make it clear that we are not ranking any of these guitarists in a numbered order but we are simply just taking in their talents and appreciating them as much as humanly possible because that is exactly all that we feel like we can do with our time and stuff like that, but for the most part we will start continuing our conversation of the best guitarists of all time by talking about Eric Clapton.

Eric Clapton is one of those guys that is from England who came over during the British invasion of the American rock and roll scene and then he pretty much took over right away. He played in quite a few pretty legendary bands including Cream and the Yard Birds, but of course everyone kind of knows Eric Clapton for his solo work and pretty much all of his songs are written by him, and his voice is also really unique and just pretty good in general. It is kind of funny when we think about Eric Clapton’s voice because when you hear him singing it kind of sounds like you are listening to some kind of southern rock, almost like listening to the Allman Brothers or something like that, but the truth is that Eric Clapton has a British accent in his real voice, and his guitar playing was unlike any other and was easily distinguishable even amongst the best of the best. We can think of some of his best songs ever, but the thing is that he is just simply an incredible artist by all means and his ability to play the guitar was definitely his greatest talent that he had in his repertoire and that is definitely saying something because he has a lot in his repertoire and that is exactly why he is considered one of the best guitarists of all time.

Let’s just continue to talk about Eric Clapton as one of the best guitarists of all time for the remainder of this particular article and I think that we can start talking about some of his greatest moments with his career and that includes a lot of different awards that he has won over the years and he is just one of those guitarists that is really humble and has kind of stayed out the lime light with any really epic groups but he still is considered one of the very best guitarists of all time because of his supreme talents.

Jimmy Page

Of course when it comes to talk about the best guitarists of all time we obviously have millions of people to choose from technically, but in all of reality we only actually have a few handfuls of people who even qualify to be mentioned on such a prestigious list of rock and roll’s most legendary instrument list of best ever. Now I think that it is really important for everyone to realize that we have created this comprehensive list of the best guitarists of all time by going back into the history of music and looking and deciding through a large list of people who was actually the best of the very best, and I think that even in today’s time period we are seeing some people who can start creeping up on this list but of course they are still going at it, and a lot of the people that we are going to talk about are still playing live shows today and that is a really remarkable thing because we still have the capability to go see the best guitarists of all time play live shows so the time period that we live in is still a very exciting one in terms of music to say the very least. So the next best guitarists of all time that we are going to be talking about is the lead guitarist in the band Led Zeppelin and this man’s name is Jimmy Page.

I think it is pretty safe to say that Jimmy Page is one of those guitarists that seriously changed the ways in which the guitar could be played, and he also was definitely a drug addict, but we aren’t going to take that against him, but he still was just such a  really incredible guy who was able to transform music and the guitar in general through his live performances and abilities to improvise. Of course Jimmy Page was in the famous British band Led Zeppelin and we can definitely say that he is one of he best parts of the band because that band just so happened to be very guitar dependent and Jimmy Page was able to take over the shows of each and every Led Zeppelin performance, and that is exactly why he was such an incredible musician. If you go back and listen to some Led Zeppelin you will almost certainly expect there to be at least two guitarists playing, but no it was all Jimmy Page all by himself and that just goes to show just how talented he was with a guitar in his hands. Led Zeppelin was definitely one of the most successful British bands in history and the facts that Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were able to put their differences aside and just start doing really epic music one song after another is really special. Of course Jimmy Page is not just an electric wizard but he also was able to play some of the most magical sounding acoustic guitar that anyone has ever heard, and that is partly why he is one of the best of all time because he was able to rock and out and be really hard core while at the same time be able to play an acoustic guitar like an angel that just fell from heaven, or hell, and that is just such a unique talent especially for back in the days when Led Zeppelin was really popular.

Best guitarists of all time

There have obviously been a bunch of great guitarists throughout the years and of course we have totally seen so many awesome rock stars in recent years come and shine their light and talents out to the world and change our cultures forever, and this is something that is really magical. It can only really be described through music and that is what this entire list of articles is all about because we are going to be talking about some of the best guitarists of all time, and that totally means that we will be getting into some of the best and most talented people to ever pick up the instrument. As you can probably imagine it is pretty hard to narrow down some of the best guitarists of all time because it is sometimes pretty hard to narrow down the very best of the best because everyone is just so good, but that is exactly what we will be doing with this list of articles, and as hard as it is to narrow down the list of the best guitarists of all time we think we have done a pretty good job because we are here for the most part to help you figure out some really great music and listen to the best of the best in terms of the guitar, and that is exactly what is about to happen. So with the first article on this very prestigious list of the best guitarists of all time we are going to take the time to talk about arguably the best guitarist of all time and that is a man by the name of Jimi Hendrix.

Now Jimi Hendrix is considered one of the best guitarists of all time for a lot more than just his ability to play the guitar really incredibly fast and electrically that will make the hairs on your neck stick up, but he is also considered one of the best guitarists of all time because of his songwriting ability and his great hits that everyone really liked. Now of course Jimi Hendrix would play solo and he also had the Jimi Hendrix Experience as his background band, but everyone thinks of Jimi as the guys with a guitar in his hands that could play incredible songs with just his guitar and his voice, and he definitely put together some incredible tracks that changed the world forever. But of course he was one of the first black guitarists to become world known super star back in the 1960s when being black in America was a little bit controversial, but Jimi Hendrix was so full of passion and energy and so was his guitar playing so he never cared about being black or any type of bullshit like that because he knew he was a God gifted to play the guitar and that is something that all of us should consider in this list of best guitarists of all time, because if you don’t got it then you aren’t going to make this list, and Jimi was the epitome of being it.

Jimi Hendrix is a legend and will always be remembered for his great tracks and albums and his ability to solo out for minutes at a time when a lot of people were just getting used to the entire concept of what a guitar solo was, and he helped redefine the guitar solo in his own unique way.
